Bolivia Visa Requirements

Category: South America | Sep 25th, 2007 By Editor

Bolivia will be requiring visas for US citizens starting December 1, 2007. Tourists travelling to Bolivia will have pay $134 for a 30-day tourist visa. The visa can be extended for up to 90 days but the cost is still unclear.

Tourists must produce proof of economic solvency when entering the country and provide a list of hotel reservations for the entire planned visit. Or they must be able to show a notarised invitation from a Bolivian citizen as well as a small passport photo taken against a red background.

US visitors will be able to obtain a visa either on the border or in the airport. The new requirements to enter Bolivia is a reciprocal fee as Bolivians entering the United States are charged $100 for each visa.

Of course this is subject to change so please check the status just before you depart.
