Liesa, there is an operator by the name of Kaz working out of Vic Falls. She used to be part owner of Bukima and has overland trucks contracted to Kumuka. She is a first rate operator who cares about her clients and her trucks and is held with very good esteem within the industry. Not sure how to get hold of her but if you call Backpackers Bazaar in Vic Falls I am sure they will know.
I am organising a trip to Mozambique and Kenya or Zambia for Dec 2008 for a large group of friends. Some of us live in Johannesburg, some in Cape Town, some in Windhoek. I know of 2 operators in Cape Town who can customise an overland tour for us, But they still have to get their trucks to the meeting point, which will be either Mozambique or Kenya or Zambia - this will work out expensive. My question is: are there any reptable East African based companies that can hire us a good overland truck, with equippment, driver, back up etc?
