  1. Have a look at Ozbus, they also run this route, but I don’t think they have beds.

  2. Hi Sean.
I went London to Sydney with EOE and would really recommend them. I see you like the idea of beds on board but believe me you’ll be glad for your own space that a tent gives.

    Steve.

  3. thanks steve i have looked at eoe but have read some bad reports about them i know you cant pease everyone all the time, as for the tents you can bring your own on anzac overland aswell as haveing a bed so the best of both worlds !

  4. Hi there guys

I remember a company called First48 who used to do routes through Asia but I am not sure if they are still doing overlanding. I know they had a lot of trouble with one of their drivers called Sean, who stole a lot of money them and their passengers. It seems that he did it to a number of other overland companies too. Every now and again he pops up trying to scam other people, usually by starting fictitious overland companies with odd sounding names. Watch out for him as he is a devious little bugger!

    Concerned overlanding enthusiast

PS Do please make sure you only travel with a fully bonded overland company otherwise you could stand to loose all your money. It’s a legal requirement for all travel companies to be properly bonded and to povide a 100% financial gaurantee, so please check before you buy.

  5. That’s worrying - does anyone know if Anzac Overland actually exists and has run any trips ?
I can’t find any company details, names of owners, or actual pictures of their trucks on their website.
There is no company called Anzac Overland listed with Companies House either.

  6. We have requested a response from Anzac Overland to the above comments.

  7. anzac overland is a real company yes we havent listed it with company house because we are a private company , as for the pic,s of our truck this is currently under construction ans s soon as we have them we will post them on our site , ok as for the driver sean yes we do know him but our understanding is different regarding your ref to him stealing money, as we have both sides of the story, and as he will not be running tours for us this is not a issue, i hope this answers some of your concerns.

  8. Hang on a minute!
I thought the original post was from someone looking to book a trip with ansac overland and now this same person, coincidentally called Sean, is posting that he owns/or at lease works for anzac overland.
Is it me or is that just a tad suspicious, not to mention downright ridiculous to claim you are a real company and you aren’t registered with companies house because you are a private company!
What tree did you fall out of? If you aren’t registered with companies house, you aren’t a legitimate company, end of story.
    There is one born everyday!

  9. Fake forum postings, non-existent company, no finished truck, possible dodgy driver - I’d steer well clear if I was looking to book one of these trips - stick to operators you can be sure of and get plenty of real feedback on them and their background before booking anything. Also be very sure of where your money is going and how it is protected before paying anything out.
I’d also recommend considering carefully how fast they are looking to do the trip - personally I like my overland trips long and slow-paced. I know people who’ve regretted doing a fast trip and spending nearly every day driving long distances and having hardly any free time to actually explore and see the places you’re travelling through, which after all is the point of doing it in the first place.

  10. My god Sean - how flippin stupid are you. What did you do? ‘Borrow’ a Rotel truck so you could pretend to get one up on the game by having beds?? kiwisean…. Sean Wxxxx with a kiwi ex girlfriend more like it. And the same ANZAC Overland who set up a website for Anzac day trips last year with a photo of a Absolute truck, Oasis web page copy and anything else you could rip off legitimate Overland websites? Yeah, the one that was closed down thanks to pressure from the same legitimate Overland companies whose names you drag down with you every time your name is mentioned. So when did you get out of jail anyway?

  11. If it is Saun Wxxxxx; he stole kitty from African Trails in Turkey ( said he took it by accident and would return it - he never did). Stole all the trip funds, kitty and pax money in Munich after leaving UK with “First 48″ (claimed it was wages owed). Trip funds stolen off Overland Club in Dahab, Egypt. Stole from a slot machine company in UK. There really has to be a lot of two sides for all those to be innocent . Oh and another theft from a tour company in India.

  12. Hey Sean, I wa son the trip remember you f..king knob, let me say this if I see you again I will show you just how happy i was with your supposed company. By the way the public really are not as stupid as you think so try another line of crime twat.

  13. Oh dear - I thought he’d taken the hint and disappeared again.
It seems the AnzacOverland.com website is up again.
Time for another call to Trading Standards I think

  14. Our contacts within the industry have provided us with a dossier of information regarding “Sean” and Anzac Overland which they have passed onto the UK Fair Trading Standards Office and other relevant trade industry bodies. Please be aware.

  15. I was on the 2004 trip with overland club from cario to capetown. I remember Sean - he was our driver (well for 1 day), we joined up with him and his kiwi girlfriend in dahab. We were meant to leave the next day, but they had both disappeared. They ran off with all our kitty money (approx. 30,000 US$ in total). He’s a fuc*in thief, bad news - do not get involved with this guy!!!

  16. Haha thats great that scumbags like that are caught out on sites like this before some other poor person gets done over, great post :)

  17. As previously mentioned, I WOULD NOT recommend EOE. Steve above, I think actually works for them, check it our yourself before you book

  18. Hi, please check all information about EOE and the same company UKTOOZ

Do they have insurance - no
Are they registered with any travel regulation - no

If they went broke, all your money would be lost over night - what securities do they offer??

As you would be aware it takes a minute to set up a limited Company.. this means nothing. Are they paying tax, is their any financial information on this company?

Yes Karen and William run this company, do a little more research please, they have actually been sued before and lost about how they ran their trips.

I am the person who has done the trip and was not happy. Their was no misunderstanding on what was to be expected. They DID ask for more money when in China and we had not choice but to pay £500 more and we did not see anything in China, because of Visa issues, had to drive straight across it literally.

will and karen do not always run the trips themselves, they ger ex passengers too!

Of course not everone will be happy on a trip, but this trip is unsafe and these people are DODGY. Please beware and don’t fall for a few ‘nice personal’ emails.

If you would like specific information, please ask, I am happy to give factual information
